A few weeks ago BANJAARA set off on a Cornish Shrimper to shoot our latest collection. It was a dream shoot. Seeing my lovely models in clothes I’ve designed is always so creatively fulfilling. I feel so grateful seeing BANJAARA go from strength to strength. That’s all thanks to your ongoing support and love - Thank you. My incredibly hard-working and creative family, Charlie & Aaron who have joined the brand - Thank you. My beautiful Models and wonderfully talented photographer - Thank you. My team in India making all my crazy ideas a reality - Thank you. We are constantly planning and designing and have so many exciting lines and projects on the horizon. Block printing is a true reflection of what Mother Nature was doing the day it was printed. On a perfectly sunny day the colours will be bright, even clouds passing over the sun will make the colours slightly duller, and small dots could be desert sand being blown over the drying fields. It’s currently monsoon season in Jaipur. Rajasthan has seen an increase in rainfall this year as to previous years. Printers will have to wait to start printing again, putting the production on hold. We are reminded of the importance of the seasons with our work, and how we work with nature’s cycles and not against them. Nothing is rushed and all is worth the wait. 🤍🙏

We’re down to our last Campanula Blue Wrap Skirts. Expect a re-stock of these in late September / early October. It’s monsoon season in Jaipur so the drying fields are at a halt. Nothing is rushed and all is worth the wait 🤍

I spent last weekend offline and away from my phone. A digital detox is just what I needed. Sadly, this small break was the longest I’ve spent offline in years. Running an online business I spend A LOT of time on my phone. I often find myself scrolling social media first thing in the morning and last thing at night. How is this impacting me subconsciously? I tend to compare myself to others in an unhealthy way which can cause unfair thoughts about myself to spiral - I don’t look good enough in that photo so I’m not going to post it - Why are other brands doing better than me at a particular thing - Anxiety about what people will think - Counting post likes and feeling disappointed if it’s not as many as I’d hoped. All very dopamine-driven and self-indulgent, I know, but the list goes on. Instagram and Facebook are fantastic platforms and used in the right way can impact yourself and the world in a positive way. I really love connecting with BANJAARA’s supporters, sharing our creations and our seeds of inspiration. But like many things in life it’s all about balance. The key is to harness a relationship with these digital tools to make them work for you and not against. Reflections from my weekend in the back of beyond: Spend long periods away from your screen to achieve a more mindful state of being. Be aware of what you’re consuming digitally. Unfollow those who trigger you, engage with those who inspire you. Ultimately, be cognisant of whether your phone is serving you or you are serving your phone. X

How do you like our new Mocha Vest? I threw it on after yesterday’s snorkel. I have a lot of love for this one, even my partner wore it. This is a sample and I haven’t wanted to take it off. I think it’s safe to say we will proceed with hand knitting more of these 🧶⚓️✨
